Minimum Qualifications

At least 18 years of age
Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) / Grade 12 minimum or equivalent
Valid Class G driver’s licence with an acceptable driving record
Medical clearance note from a qualified health care provider confirming physical fitness for firefighter duties
Training certifications: Upon hire, firefighters will participate in the department’s Training Program and must achieve the following certifications and licenses:
- Valid Class DZ Driver’s License
- NFPA 1072 Hazardous Materials Responder – Awareness Level
- Red Cross Certification (First Aid, CPR, AED, Oxygen Therapy, Airway Management, and Basic Life Support / BLS)
- NFPA 1001 Firefighter Level 1 & 2
- NFPA 1072 Hazardous Materials Operations Level
