Under the direction of the Supervisor, Animal Services, the Animal Services Officer, Urgent Response (after hours) is responsible for after-hours response to calls for animals that are critically injured, sick, or otherwise in distress to alleviate pain and suffering, on an on-call basis.

This includes, but is not limited to capturing, handling, restraining, and assessing all types of animals. Transporting domestic animals to receive veterinary treatment, providing temporary housing and care to wild animals that are eligible for rehabilitation, and humane euthanasia of wild animals that are not eligible for rehabilitation. Completing necessary reports and maintaining detailed notes.
